Grammar - 6th grade

This year grammar is going to be so easy! Someone sent this link through a homeschool list for the online Scott Forsman grammar and writing handbooks. They are great! We've been using the 5th grade book for a while this Spring, and C really enjoys it. It's simple, quick, and gets the point across. We still have the bulk of our grammar study integrated with our copy work for the day, but it's nice to have a few things to follow along so that I don't forget something. We will mostly use the grammar handbook as a guide pulling out those topics from copy work when I can do so. Otherwise, the worksheets will work nicely. And, they are free!

We will occasionally use the writing assignments if needed, but the main focus of her writing instruction will come through her creative writing course. (This year's focus will be on creative writing rather than report writing.)

Copy work - daily (also functions as C's memory work selection for the week - more on that in a new post...)

Selections for copy work will be chosen from the Bible and from her history, science, and literature reading. Most selections will be chosen based on that week's reading or for a selection that highlights any grammar issues that she needs to review. However, the following will be used as well:

Psalm 1; Matthew 5:1–12; 16:16; Mark 10:42–45; Luke 19:10; John 3:3, 16–18; 5:24; 10:7–16; 14:6; 15:13; Acts 4:12; 16:31; Romans 3:23; 4:5; 5:6; 6:23; 10:9, 10, 13
